Unknown cress disease

I recently began growing cress indoors and within two days a fluffy white substance began growing on the stems. I am unsure of what it is or how to treat it. Help please.

Hi archfeline. Is it possible to load up a picture to help us identify the problem?

  • I apologise for the poor quality but there are very fine, fluffy white hairs growing from some of the stems

I'm probably wrong but aren't they just the roots growing? the seed head still attached to the leaves

They're doing what they're supposed to do but perhaps you need to sow them more densely if you want enough for an egg sandwichimage

    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • That's a relief. Thankyou

The white 'fluffy' bits are the root hairs of the cress and as B3 says they are doing their job. Taking in water. You should have done science with me archfeline image
