Re-seeding

Hello again. I have made the mistake of killing moss in my garden and it's left large patches of bald areas. I thought - rightly or wrongly - that removing the moss would make for a prettier lawn. Further research shed more light and another option... So now I've killed 90% of the moss, I'd like it back. Reading that Mr Titchmarsh has a moss lawn and it's great for my kids. So all that said. I've armed myself with a rake, bought the seed pictured and with it a bag of top soil. I would like a thinish blade grass. We just bought the house before Christmas and the lawn was more a bowling green rather than meadow grass, if you get my meaning. So before I make anymore boo boos I figured I should ask for some professional help. The chap at b&q really had no idea :-/ Thanks for reading this and any help would be much appreciated.
Warm regards Sam.

Hi Sam. Rake the bare areas so that they are reasonably level. To evenly distrbute the seed, mix it with some silver/horticultural sand. Spread on the bare patches - the sand helps you to see where you have been - then top dress with a little top soil. This job should be carried out in late summer/early autumn when the soil is still quite warm. Keep watered in dry spells.
p.s. The moss will soon be back
Thanks Ladybird, I've bought the gro sure smart lawnseed. Will that give a good result, or will I need to order a seed from another merchant. I'd like a quite thin bladed grass if possible...

Hello again, I thought best to add to this topic. Very frustrated ? I have re-seeded the areas needed but was sold the wrong seed. I now have almost bowling green areas and parts growing like wildfire. Can anyone please advise?
