Tulips
I've got some tulips in pots that I'm planning to take with me when I move 300 miles North in July. I was planning to just leave the bulbs in the pots and see what, if anything, they do next year. Reading this month's magazine it says to lift them - is this more likely to get results next year, or is it just to make room to plant other things?! I'm renting initially so have no idea if I'll have anywhere suitable to store lifted bulbs. Thanks.

Hi katvet. Tulips do better if they are lifted every year but as you are in a big upheaval at the moment. I would just leave them in the pots and see how they go on.
If they have been planted deeply, give them a liquid feed, wait until leaves die back then keep them dry in the pot.
If their in the ground you lift them to make room for the summer bedding, but they can be left,it makes no difference,i've done both and it makes no difference
