Can you identify this weed please?

imageHello

I am a complete novice! I am wondering if anyone can tell me what this weed is and if I can spread it somehow (I like it) Or is that a terrible idea?!

Thanks in advance

It's a Campanula and I love it. It covered all the manky bits and broken concrete at my very first house. It will mooch a bit but it's easy to simply pull out the bits you don't want. For me it would be a keeper.

If you can manage to gently pull out some pieces with the root still attached you can plant them up wherever you like.

    Thank you so much!

  • It's one of the creeping campanulas, portenschlagia or poscharskayana I think. Spreads pretty much by itself but you could dig up some pieces and transplant them, preferably non-flowering bits. Beware though they can smother other things if left unchecked. But agree the flowers are very attractive. After flowering you can be quite brutal and shear off the spent stems, the plant will soon recove.
