Potato problems

Oh dear what is happening to the potatoes? They are small and so imperfect. We dug up two plants as the leaves looked sickly and this is what they had produced. Any potato experts out there who can tell us what has caused this problem please?

Oh no Bob - this is such a shame - we never had blight in 30 odd years of growing potatoes in this patch but the person who has taken over the plot has had this blight problem for the past 2 or 3 years - he has used Bordeaux powder but this obviously hasn't helped the situation and he has about 8 rows of potatoes ready to harvest in the next month or so. We thought it was too early in the year for blight to strike, he will be so despondent - poor man.
