Hello everyone.  Is anyone able to identify this beastie?  Scared the life out of me when it flew into my shed this afternoon!  About 2-3" long.  image

    Thanks - I thought it might be but I've never seen one before so wasn't sure. It seemed to be eating the carpet on the shed floor!

    I posted a while back to say I had heard and seen wasps 'eating' my shed door - grazing tiny channels in the wood to chew into paper to make their nest. Hornets are not as aggressive as wasps despite their intimidating look.
