Moving Bulbs
Hi - This is my first post on here, so hello to everyone .
I'm just about to move home - we currently live in the far NE of Scotland. I have huge barrel tubs chock full of bulbs, some of which haven't quite stopped flowering. For removal purposes I have to empty the barrels. How can I safely transport my bulbs? I won't have the opportunity to replant them immediately and obviously don't want to lose them! Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!

Hi Catherine and welcome.. That is such a headache! If it were me I would use an old compost bag or a couple of bin liners and make a temporary home with compost etc. and place the bulbs into those - much easier to move than the barrel. They could then stay in their temporary homes until the leaves die off and you can then lift them and store them somewhere cool and dry until replanting in their new homes this autumn. Good luck with your house move.
