Copper Slugs
Has anyone used copper strip, or any other copper, to repel slugs? I want to know if it works.
I keep finding them in my greenhouse too, even when the door is closed, so I thought if it works I could run a strip around the bottom of it to stop them getting in. It's supposed to be the one place I can guarantee has no slugs in it!

I reckon the ones I find in my greenhouse have hatched and grown up there. I have probably brought them in on plants.
Wouldn't do any harm to lay a strip around the whole door I suppose, they are great climbers.
I received advice on here to try the pound shop or Wilko for the best value copper tape and will experiment with it this year. Lots of people swear by it, but usually as a barrier around pots.
Strangely I have seen fewer slugs this year. The snails have taken over!
Good luck.
I've bought some copper tape from Wilko to put around my pots with hostas and dahlias and they are unblemished, so it must have worked. Otherwise, even though I've been picking a huge number of slugs and snails every evening, they've still managed to eat my asters and even poppies and the only strawflower I've managed to grow from seed.
Aw pitter-patter the very first thing I grew in any garden ever was strawflower. I couldnt believe they were real!
As for slugs give it a go bob. It's the most attractive of the suggestions on the forum...scissors being one of the least!!
Yep it definitely works, B&M is the cheapest I've found for the tape if you have one nearby. My dad has a ring of copper pipe around his most prized patch and that definitely works too
