Feathered Friend

Call me soft but mother nature once again has me smiling. The gleam was down to a breeding pair of Blackbirds who took it in turn to keep me company no more than a good arms length away. The female was particularly a star. She perched herself  on top of the fence steering at me through a thicket of nesting material in her beak. It looked like a cossacks moustuche and  beard. What close encounters have you had.

A pair of magpies stole my lunch today whilst I was doing a tidy up.  Watched them scoff my cut up into bite sized pieces ham and cheese roll from a distance, have themselves a drink and then they sat and watched me watching them!

Found a lovely little moth with a feathered head yesterday. No idea what it was. Have never seen one like that before.

there is a Robin who visits my garden every day and follows me around whilst i'm digging so he can have a root around in the turned soil.    I've also got sparrows who sit on the fence every night around 6pm and they shout at me until I put their food out.    the fat wood pidgeons and the blackbirds seem to have found somewhere else to go for now as I have lifted all the grass in the back garden, but hopefully they will return once I lay some turf image
