Those look great and if they've built in thumbprints that's even better.
They look old because they look very thick. (Like us really). Mass production and modern methods mean everything is pared away to nothing to increase profits so chances are they are quite old. Good save! Keep them indoors if you've room just in case.
I inherited a terracotta one with the house but I regularly have to sweep up the bits....or at least I would if I did that kind of thing.
