What are these tiny black things?

My chilli pepper plant has some tiny black things attached to some leaves and some leaves have been eaten... What are those tiny black things? How to get rid of them? I am new at planting things so I would like some tips on keeping bugs away from my plants.

I've no idea what they are but one of the tried and tested methods of critter control is spraying with a dilute solution of fairy up liquid!!! Try that and see if it works or pick them off by hand.
Is there a spider's web above the chilli? To me they look a bit like spider poos. The fairy liquid might still be useful

Always wondered what that was. Sometimes see it on windowsills. Must admit that possibility never occurred to me!
