Lamprocapnos spectabilis (Bleeding Heart)

I have planted 2 of these plants in large containers in my garden, do you dead head the flowers (as some have died off) or do you just leave them?.    image

Thanks

doesn't make any difference either way. They just have one flush.

I have to say, they do tend to look pretty scruffy for the rest of the summer. I usually plant them where other plants will disguise this.

I just leave mine alone and they are doing really well this year (been in the garden two years now). I have the pink and white varieties.

I cut mind down after the first flowering and feed them.  They look a lot healthier and sometimes I get a second flowering, although obviously nothing like the first.
