Maple tree not leafing out

Hi,
I have a mature Maple tree in my garden and for the first time this year it is not leafing out , there are buds on the tree and it does not appear to have died.
has anyone any suggestions

Hi James. Mine seemed to be taking forever too and then all of a sudden things started happening. I would wait a little longer to see what happens with yours.
A lot of things seem to have been delayed this year. I have 2 acers in pots, standing side by side. One has been in full leaf for well over a month, the other only about a week or so.
