slug pellets

Hi all, thinking of using organic slug pellets,but are they still harmful to wildlife?

    Organic slug pellets are considered safe to use and as long as they don't contain metaldehyde they do solve a problem.

    I have some made of sheep wool, (yes, they smell "sheepy") which say they are harmless to wild life, they degrade into the soil after a lot of rain, though
