Peas

zakzakzakzak Posts: 178

I am an amateur gardener I decided th I s year I would grow pea pods but in pots they are dwarf ones and they are doing very well they have now started to have flowers on and the sparrows have become very interested in them. What do I do now just wait for the peas. Also I'm growing beetroot amongst other things they are also in a pot when do I pick those.

Hi flowerpower. You need to wait for the pods to form and then to swell with the ripening peas. Are they mange tout - as you speak of pea pods - or are you wanting just the peas themselves? The beetroot will need several weeks to develop.

You will need some netting to keep the sparrows away too
