Poppy heads eaten
I have planted a perennial poppy of type 1-2 ft high. It had several long thin stems with well formed buds. Overnight the buds only, are severed off, no harm to leaves, what could cause this with so very thin stems, can't see snails the culprit, but may be wrong. My new plants are planted through bark, anyone had problems with this harbouring pests, please, just out of interest?

Hi David. Look for slime trails - a giveaway for either snail or slug activity.
There have been quite a few stories about decapitated flowers recently. I've lost a few poppy heads as well and I understand how frustrating it can be. I was looking forward to the blooms. I also would like to know the culprit if anyone can help.
