Yellow columbine help!
ive noticed a problem with my Cardinal columbine recently, it's leaves have all started to turn yellow and brown. It's still got flowers on it though. I'm just wondering if these plants are very sensitive to frost, or if I may have a pest problem to deal with. Thanks for any input!

I can't see the pic very well but that looks very sick. It might be worth cutting it right back to see if it grows new, healthy leaves. I had one that looked like Cardinal, though it had a different name. They're not as robust as the traditional Aquilegia vulgaris. Mine died

I agree with nut, cut it right back to the ground. If whatever lurgy it has is only affecting the leaves, it will send up new ones and although it won't flower again this year, it will hopefully survive with the fresh set of leaves.
I don't think it is frost, aquilegias are pretty hardy. The Touchwood aquilegias site has a page on aquilegias diseases. I agree with nut, shear it all off, burn or dustbin the debris. Do not put on compost heap if any chance of a fungal disease.
I didn't think it was frost either, but I couldn't find any specific disease/fungus online that matched what it looked like. There's a second one a few feet away from this sick one what doesn't look quite as bad, but is definitely starting to yellow like this one is. Thanks for your input! Hopefully they'll survive!
