Special Offer Tomato Plants

Anyone taken up the tomato plant offer from Thompson & Morgan in Gardeners World earlier this year?. 6 plants for £8.99. Mine arrived yesterday (ordered in early March) and they are awful.  Tiny plants that are all twisted and very weak .  Could have bought much better plants for less money at the local garden centre Just wondered if I was unlucky or if anyone else has had the same experience.

There are endless complaints about that company Susie. By now, tomatoes should be a decent size and ready to flower.

You might still be lucky to pick up a few at the GC or even the well known diy store. They'll catch up well enough to give you some toms this year.

Better to grow from seed yourself - it's not difficult and saves you the problem you've just experienced. You'd have needed those by early April at the size they send out. Make sure you get your money refunded.

Have you told T&M? I would be asking for a full refund.

Hi Fairygirl.  The reason I opted for this offer was that there were six plants of different varieties, with some unusual ones.  Not easy to get one each of a good selection when raising from seed.  At least T&M have responded (see above), we'll see what happens, but pretty sure I won't be getting any unusual tomatoes this year after all.image
