Anyone recognise this insect infestation and the best way to treat it please. The bark also seems to be covered in a brittle scaly crust.

Hi. They are rather difficult to make out but to me they just look like aphids.
Due to a lack of response I've carried on searching and it seems it is called Euonymus scale.
That's a new one on me. I've had euonymous for donkeys' years and I've never come across it. Thanks Granny Weatherwax.
