Stella cherry tree

My Stella cherry tree fruited well last year, but this year the buds started to flower, then before the buds opened fully they started to take on a scorched/rust like appearance. The leaves are struggling to appear. Can anyone offer a reason for this and suggest any remedy to resolve this problem.

Hi Barry. It could be wind burn. We have had some ferocious winds lately and there is also a fungal disease that can cause the same type of appearance called leaf scorch - not to be confused with wind burn.
