Can you take cuttings from a garden with honey fungus?

my mums garden has honey fungus that is affecting a couple if trees. I want to take some cuttings of various plants in the garden - is this unadvisable due to the fungus? Obviously I would avoid any cuttings from affected trees or plants nearby but could I potentially transfer the fungus to my own garden even if, for example, I take a leaf cutting from an unaffected plant? Many thakks!
