Problems with sweet peas

    hi to all  I was thinking the same thing  myself I had about 40 in a tray and got about 12 this was second time I take seed pods of plants put in small bottles  label them what colour they are I have done this the last 6 yrs allways come  and I use fresh seeds each time  so what am I doing wrong   Michael image

    No need for the greenhouse Rob - they're hardy annuals. Keep them outdoors somewhere sheltered and they'll germinate quite readily. Keeping them undercover will just produce soft, lanky plants which are less able to withstand attacks from pests. image

    Are they getting eaten Michael? Young, small plants are susceptible unfortunately. Remove any slugs or snails at night if you can. It's easier to control them in pots by using copper tape or grit or any one of the other usual methods, but physically removing and dispatching them is often the best method. 

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
