I would love a hedgehog to visit our garden. Haven't seen any for years image

I bought a gorgeous little hosta from Morrisons a few weeks ago, planted it, admired it for a day. The next morning it was like a doily.

I think containers are the way to go in my garden.

We've recently bought an american coffee press where you end up with a disc of dry coffee afterwards, I've been scattering the grounds under my hostas and image it seems to be keeping the slugs n snails off

I buy copper tape in pound land and put it around the pots of hostas and any plants slugs and snails love  iam growing my dahlias in pots as they were eaten by these pests last year when they were in the ground

I haven't seen a hedgehog in the 18+ months that we've lived here.  I saw them frequently at the last place, they lived under next doors' deck and came in under the gap under the gate, my little dog was on hedgie-watch by the patio doors at night so we knew when they visited.  I also unfortunately saw them on the road image

The only reason I know we have them here is Techie Hubby bought a night cam and we've seen them in two parts of the garden now.  We've also seen muntjac deer, shrews, a bat and a rat under the shed.

And then there were the X rated videos when he put it near the place where all the birds seemed to go for "pastoral antics".  Bit of Bird Porn anyone?

I'm joking, I won't sell it, that would be weird!

Just spotted this thread on hostas and wonder if you can identify the first two for me; the third is Blue Angel potted up on advice from this forum and I have slate chippings on top, so far no slugs or snails.

The others are in 'long tom' pots without gravel or chippings and again no intruders - there is a label indicating that pic.1 is Touch of Class but I can't be sure.   First post with photos since the new set-up so I hope it works!!

    Thanks
