bare honeysuckle- is it dead?

Thriving honeysuckle planted about 5 years ago- very well established.  It struggled to flower last few years I think it was diseased.

I pruned it back hard this year and worried that late frosts caught it.

It is now bare. I have given it fish, blood, bones mix and tried to remove nearby plants.

Do I accept no growth this year or is it dead and needs replacing?

Usually when I cut back honeysuckle,  even to the ground (hard back)   I find that it springs back in no time and thicker too. When a plant is damaged  it trys  to  repair its self in the same way.
