Azalea not doing great
Hi,
I bought 2 Azalea and 1 of them has already flowered and looking very healthy. The other 1 isn't doing so good, it was planted at the same time, same potting mix etc so not sure what's happened... any ideas?
Thanks in advance : )

Azaleas tend to prefer an acidic medium so it could be that, but if the other one is fine it must be something else. Sometimes I find that GC's can put new stock next to old and that can cause discrepancies with success.
Yes, i have used ericaceous soil in both so it's not that
Could it be something to do with the position the plant is in, Marcos? The black leaves seem not to be the oldest or the youngest, as if at some stage, maybe when the affected leaves were new and tender, something happened to them... eg they were wet, then scorched by strong sunlight - or touched by frost when not hardened off - or the plant dried out - or maybe a dog weed on them??
Anyway, the new growth looks ok, so perhaps it will grow out of it.
I think maybe you need to check the sunlight levels? I had mine under a sycamore tree thinking it will be nice and shady. However I didn't consider the fact that the leaves of the tree only emerge in May, which means up until then my azalea leaves were being scorched and ruined by direct sun. It happened last year too. Once the tree was nice and leafy and provided enough shade then my azalea thrived.
