This last year in my garden in Sheffield it's been calendula and primulas/primroses. Even though we had a very mild winter I was surprised to see one calendula flower continuously since spring last year and has now started producing even more flowers.
The primroses and primulas also flowered all year and are just now beginning to fade, although some are still going strong. Also in my East-facing front garden the sunflowers do very well with flowers into early December in a mild autumn/early winter.
I've got 3 orange geums which have been flowering since Jan 2015. My Dad is rather annoyed as these came from plant he split and his original one has keeled over and died!
primulas and primroses here in Birmingham, too,!!. However we bought a property in Portugal 2006 and a lavender bush has not been without flowers since then.........maybe that's cheating?
