Hi has anyone grown cleome colour fountain this year. Ive managed to get 4 ? Last year the first tray failed to germinate the second got green fly then chewed by slugs?
2014 i grew cleome helen cambell which were very robust
I always find cleomes a bit hit and miss to germinate. This year one pot came up lovely, a second produced precisely nothing. Then OH knocked the successful pot all over the floor ....jury's out whether a recovery will occur (and I'll leave you to judge whether that is the seedlings or OH)
I've grown this from seed for the past few years, lovely tall plants that flower for ages.
Last year I had dozens of plants and even gave some away. This years germination rate has been really disappointing, I only have 6 seedlings and they're very small.
I put it down to the cold spring we've had, everything I've sown seems to be growing soooo slowly.
Chicky: I feel for you knocked over a tray of lobelia in the greenhouse today, luckily the roots held them together in cube shapes but the module tray split into bits.
Hi hollie, is your grow house full yet? . Shifted most of mine out this week, I'll have to stick a photo on the seedlings thread so you can see how it's going.
Ha ha I should have been clearer hollie. I meant I've shifted them out of the conservatory into the plastic greenhouse. (Only chillies left inside now)
Not risking anything "outside out" yet, it's still a bit too chilly overnight in Manchester and they're still too small to survive a slug attack.
