Vine weevil question

B3B3 Posts: 27,504

I found a dead fuchsia in ny garden. It had no roots. I turned over the soil and found nothing suspicious. The surrounding plants- not fuchsias - are fine.

@r off elsewhere?

    No cornelly, fortunately. Will look out for signs of the adults later.

    at least the adults squish with a very satisfying crunch.

    In the past when Vine Weevils have been at work on my plants there have always been some lurking somewhere in the compost.

  • On looking very hard at the pots of fuchsias in my porch so far I've found 3 vine weevils which I have squashed!  I am now left with very lacy leaves so will have to tip out the plants and look for the grubs. Is there anything I can do to prevent this happening again? image
