Increasing begonias

i have some begonia corms the size of saucers which I have chitted. Can I cut the corms into smaller sizes? If so di I have to treat the cut edges with anything to avoid fungus or rotting?

I did that with mine this year, you can get some flowers of sulphur for the edges, it's very cheap on Amazon, you only need a small packet of it. Leave about four chits on each piece.
