Acer
Hi. My first time here. I have a Bloodgold Acer and it is in a pot. It only has three branches but last year it was doing well then obviously lost its leaves. It was just coming into leaf this year when it was hit by a frost that I wasnt aware was going to happen and when we got up the next morning all the leaves had gone and it looks so sorry for itself. Can anyone tell me if I should just keep watering and feeding and it will spring back in to life, or should I get rid of it and start again? Also, ca it be grown in a pot all the time, or does it have to be planted out? If someone could help me I would be so pleased. Thankyou

Hi Lyn. Don't throw it away. Let it recover - if its going to - patience and time will tell. It would prefer to be in the garden as opposed to the pot.
I have a Japanese maple that lost all its leaves about two years ago. Just kept watering and feeding it and it recovered fine.If you want to grow it in a container then the bigger the better.
