Mara de Bois

Invicta2Invicta2 Posts: 663

Planted out Mara de Bois strawberries in April which I had purchased on-line.  The plants are thriving but have started to produce a lot of flowers which I am removing to build up their strength. What concerns me is that Mara is a perpetual type not a summer type and the mass of flowers the plants are producing makes me wonder if they are Mara. Those of you growing Mara can you advise me if this is normal for the variety?

Advice on spring planted strawberries is to rove the flowers so the plant will produce a heavy crop the next year.
