Whats this at base of lilly?

2nd year Lake Michigan lillies, growing so strong this year. But the biggest one has this at the base. Anything to worry about?

    lmao, no thats my kids chalk board sponge! the white growth!...(had to crop to reduce pic to <5mb)

    Yes, roots - lilies send out roots from the stem as it grows upwards from the bulb.  You should probably lift and plant it a bit deeper after it dies back and goes dormant.  image

    Thank you both. Should I cover them with an inch of compost or not?..

    You may as well although it won't harm it if you don't as those root 'buds' won't develop without soil to grow into.
