Hello Mark, I bought 3 liitle plants 2 years ago from Morrison's and they are fantastic. Grew to 6ft! They are coming back again ! I did see some in Morrison's about a week ago . If you get hold of any , plant them out now. Good luck.image

Mine seed around so much we're beginning to get peeved by them. More come out than stay, that's for sure.

Once you've got one bonariensis you'll never be without them again.

Mature plants survive the winter easily and they self-seed everywhere. Seeds dropped last season are now 3-4" and will soon be 6ft+

Yep been growing for 4 years no self seeding yet I'd be quite happy to pick the excess out if they did ;-)

Just goes to show what a difference local conditions make.

I have 000's and 000's of tiny bon. seedlings all over the garden. I have hoe 'em down I'm afraid, but I still have around 50-60 that I let grow each year.
Even dried-out lumps of clay are covered in baby bons.

When I see them in 2L pots for sale at local gdn centres costing £8-10 I wince.
Mainly at the thought of how much money I could make if I potted my babies up and sold them on!!

I can only think that my garden soil just gets a bit too wet for them. ladies mantles goes everywhere but I'd definitely prefer the verbena!

There you go - I can't grow ladies mantle.

Given the choice, I'd go for the verbena over the mantle too.

I can't grow astrantias either, which is a huge pity
