Strange fungi in the veg patch
My husband filled in a pond with wood waste and wood-chip we received from a treat surgeon. He then topped it with top-soil and started planting. This all happened in the past four months.
This morning we woke up to a strange fungus growing in the veg patch. It has changed as the sun was on it and went from a sponge/foam texture to a more liquid looking form. It grew around the young beetroot and carrot plants but I'm not sure if it makes any difference. The plants don't seem to be affected by it as if yet.
Below are images of the fungus.
If anyone can give us any idea of what it is and how to take it from here we'd be very thankful.

Looks interesting, does anyone know?
Probably a slime mould I would think:
