Honey and Water??
Hello Everyone,
I have a random query with regards to honey and water. I know that it can be used as rooting hormone and help promote root grow for cuttings but would there be any benefits to using a similar solution on seedlings mature plants?
Would it increase growth or would it encourage pests?
Just wondering!

Hi Charlotte. That is a new one on me but I do know of success with custard powder and soluble Vitamin C tablets. If it works - go for it.
I can't imagine anything sticky being good for seedlings, but go ahead and prove me wrong and let us know about it

i quite often put honey on the wound where i have cut a branch off of something & know about using it as rooting hormone, not heard about seedlings or making other things grow, i think my only concern is you could end up with a lot of ants being attracted to it
Honey is actually an antibacterial and so might be more likely to be used as that in rooting. It's not a hormone.
