Raising the lawn
my small garden slopes very slightly and during the winter months there is a pool of water at the bottom of the garden which needs pumping after every rainfall. I dug a soak away some years ago and this just acts like a pond therefore I thought I might try levelling the garden with a mixture of ballast, top soil and turfing over the top. Does this seem like the right way to go about it or not. I will then add raised beds for planting. any advise welcomed.
