Hi Rachelk_2 It depnds on your point of view whether it is a weed or not. It is Alkanet and once you have it its very difficult to get rid of it. Insects love it. I ove it too but I keep it within bounds by digging loads out every year.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
The typos crack me up. So much for having the edit button back!
I think I'm a little hysterical. I've been out in a million degree heat cutting my acreage. My face is porpoil!!! so I thought I'd create a bit of mischief.
There is nothing quite like a bit of mischief! I am being driven demented by a workman who is taking all the tiles off in my bathroom and its too cold outside to work. Sorry - I am invading Rachelk_2's space. I'll disappear for a while!

I left it in and only 2 years on am struggling to stop it swamping everything as the roots are very deep and hard to remove completely, and it self seeds like fury, and I prefer not to use chemicals for removal if poss.
Grow some wallflowers for the bees instead and if you must keep some, have it well away from any flower beds. I'm allowing it to stay in our meadow for now, but I'm not sure what I'll think in 2 years time
