    Phlomis russelliana. Stands tall and brown through winter and looks great with the frost on ot

    It's a lovely thing - hooded yellow tubular flowers from those knobbly bits on the stems.  Needs a bit of space to spread.  image

    Phlomis Russelliana, great plant. A very good weed suppressor too. If you leave the flower stalks you get winter interest and also goldfinches love the seeds. You will get lots of plants for free but you need to move them quickly before the roots go deep. You can also get pink flowered, lilac flowered and dark yellow flowered phlomis too.
