When I moved in to this house 2.5 years ago this was about 6' high so I left it thinking it might be a rose.  That was July, never seen any flowers on it, chopped it back eventually as it was easier than digging it out but it's growing again.

Any ideas?

Hi Andy. Have you got a picture of the plant?

Picture arrived Andy! Its a dog rose. Possibly taken over from a posher rose that has been grafted onto it.

Sorry it's there now - posting photos from iPhone puts them sideways, so had to add from the iPad.

Worth keeping?  Like I said it hasn't flowered before, maybe I could persuade it?

I grew some from seed I collected in a rose hip and it took them about 3 years to flower and then I just got the one typical single wild rose type flower. I want them in my garden though so I will let them just get on with things. My garden is deliberately planted for wildlife so this is a nice addition.
