Can anyone tell me why so many holly trees seem to be dieing this season, I've seen so many here in S.Wales and most of the leaves have dropped off ?

Holly trees are evergreen, but holly leaves are not. The old leaves are shed throughout the year but quite often the tree ditches a lot at once and now is not an unusual time, as it is good time for new leaves to grow. Perhaps the weather conditions in your part of the world have triggered an unusually heavy leaf fall.
