Black fly on cherry tree

Are there any good organic methods of getting rid of a blackly infestation from a cherry tree. I heard something about garlic or washing up liquid.

Hang a bird feeder there with something tasty for the bluetits. While they are waiting their turn they will sort out your blackfly problem.
