Brown tailed moth caterpillars
another day, another scare story.
all these plants and animals have been around as long or longer than we have and we've survived so far,
We use to play with all those hairy caterpillars as kids, people weren't so frightened of the natural world then. Perhaps journalists hadn't fully developed the art of a good horror story.

Its a bit early for Great Whites seen off Cornwall. They usually save it for August.
I've seen a few. One was munching on my poor Lupin a few weeks back at night. The good old torch patrol should be helpful, not only for slugs and snails.
