Clematis

Jack1938Jack1938 Posts: 2

Good evening,

I am new here, in fact I'm not a gardener - yet. I'm contacting all you knowledgeable people out there on behalf of my best mate.

Last year she planted some Clematis, after I put up a climbing frame 18 ins x 6ft approx, to which they have taken to strongly. This year they look a little wild and have entwined themselves in the growing process. They have not flowered yet, so it is not possible for me to say what type of Clematis it is.

A photograph has been taken hoping to upload it to give some idea as to what the Clematis looks like now, but unfortunately I can't find a facility that allows this.

My question is, do I leave the Clematis to grow wild or does it need to have an added climbing frame?

Thank you in advance of all your advice.

Hi Tetley, Thank you for your response. The plant was bought in Morrison's last year, so it's reasonable to assume it isn't a wild plant.

There is not much information I can give other than to say it is well established, growing strong and has good, unblemished foliage.

Judging from the camera image on the right, I assume pic's can be attached. I'll send one at the first opportunity.
