Issues with petrol strimmer
hi, I have a Titan petrol strimmerhi no more than 12mths old, went to use it this morning and had big problems starting it. Checked the fuel lines and sorted a minor blockage then the strimmerhi worked fab for about an hour. Then after lunch it started playing up again. I can get it to fire up and run in idle but as soon as I go to start cutting it stalls?? Any ideas or help would be great.

Is your petrol fresh? Unleaded petrol, if it's left lying about for any length of time, is useless. It definitely sounds like a fuel issue.
Yea I bought new petrol this morning. Added correct amount of oil to the mix. It's annoying as it worked for 45 mins but wont restart now
Could be a stuck/sticking choke?
Or a small blockage in the Carburetor due to your aforementioned fuel line blockages?
Pull the spark plug out and check its not oiled up or contaminated in some way.
Hope this helps.
Simon, how did you get your writing to change size????
BB code doesn't work, so probably not that.

Lee find a local service centre, I always have mine serviced at the start of a new season. They renew a few bits and check everything over. I find the stihl people very good and they'll service all sorts of machines.
Our carburetor needed replacing on ours today. It was probably because we didn't empty the old fuel last season. We also changed the fuel lines as a matter of course.

Plant Pauper.
As my grammar and spelling are atrocious I mostly tend to write out what I want to post on a word document then cut and paste to the forum. It was different in my previous post as I came across the word carburetor and went to my word document for a spell check and continued writing. It was only when I posted my note that I realized the size was different.
I suppose you can add any style of writing and fonts to suit.
Brilliant Simon. Thanks for that. In bed last night as I was mulling over the day, like you do, I thought it might be something like that.
Due to the issues with the site at the moment people with visual problems are having difficulty reading the text so it might help if we all big it up a bit!
Thanks again.
BTW Simon, before we had the edit button reinstalled some of the typos were outrageous!
You're not the only one!
