Christmas tree/Blue pine?

I bought a Christmas tree in a pot 22 years ago and planted it at the front of my Mum's house. Think it was 5 years old when bought. Now it's a little tall and she's worried about it. Is it possible for the top to be cut off without killing it?. It's a lovely tree and has plenty of space for side growth, just worried how tall it's going to get. I'd say it's between 25 and 30 foot tall.

Hi astranova. It probably won't kill the tree but it will leave it rather misshapen.

I agree with Ladybird - it probably won't kill it but it's going to look very odd image
