Not if it's fence stainy type stuff. Read the tin of whatever you get and ensure your getting an opaque rather than a fence stain. Something like garden shades should cover it and comes in lovely colours.
Some of those products are only suitable for rough wood rather than planed wood so do a bit of reading up and make sure you read the tin.
Another thing you might like to try is starting a new thread called show us your sheds and explain why you'd like to see them.
On a thread last year someone posted a pic of their new Summer house and you want to see some of the gorgeous things that appeared!!! I love seeing all the pics. The gardens are truly inspirational!
I have just had a look and it was fence stain. So if I get the matt colour will it go over this red? I wish I could go back to the natural wood colour but I guess this is not possible. I will go to shop soon, get some samples and read the tins. I had a look at Cuprinol colours and you're right there are some really nice colours. I like the colours Willow, Sea grass and Juicy grape. They are so lovely.I had a look at Cuprinol colours - you're right, they are so nice. I really likeplant pauper says:

You could plant a clematis montana in the shady back corner. I have a clematis montana rubens which covers about three-quarters of my garage. Spectacular when it flowers, and leafy most of the year, and receives zero maintenance (you won't catch me climbing onto the garage roof to prune).
Clematis montana? I had a look - how pretty. Thanks for this idea.seacrows says:

Oh thank you I may do this. I don't want to bore people with my shed woe though! That thread is great - there was even someone with a similar problem who didn't like his cedar red shed and changed it to Old English Green and he has put photos up of both. Gives me a great idea! I will add this to my list of samples.
Oh how nice of her/him! I have never been a big fan of clematis. It's my mum who's the gardener really - Ive taken over for a bit as she's not well. She had a clematis but it hasn't survived. I always thought it was a bit spikey looking and wasn't that keen on it. But they do seem very popular.
I should have started the new shed thread as you suggested. I can't wait to paint it now and hope it blends in to the background. I really hope whatever colour I decide on does go over the red and not make it darker.

That's a good idea. Do I have to strip the red paint off to put the green on?

I love montanas. I have one ready to go in and I was going to disguise a dead tree with it.
Change of plan...I came home one day and as a surprise my neighbour had cut the tree down for me! Now my montana is going along the fence instead!
