Tulips, lilies and dahlias

RubiRubi Posts: 131

Can dahlias, lilies and tulips be planted in the same planter?

Also how deep does the soil need to be?

I have a barrel that's 50cm wide by 25cm high. Would this be suitable?

imageI've got lilies and tulips in same pot, I put the bulbs about 6 inches down for lilies then a layer of soil and tulips on top. I don't have dahlias so can't say from experience.

I think Dahlia need a pot of their own. I've tried doubling up in the past but they did'nt perform as well as they could.I pot all mine in different pots or into the ground. It might be worth trying 'tho.
