Growbag or multi-purpose?

Since growbags seem to be considerably cheaper than multi-purpose compost does anyone use them in place of compost?

The Durstons growbags I get from the milkman always seem to be good quality and I have used them as soil conditioner etc. This year I have some quite large pots to fill (and can't find enough polystyrene to bulk it up) so am using it to fill pots and then topping off with 'good' compost.

Anyone else do this? Is there something special/different about growbags?

I've used grow bag compost in large pots. It works just fine and I've never had to top it up with something better. For tomato growing I reckon it is far better to grow the things in pots rather than in the grow bag with its low profile.
