Cutting roses - when?
in Plants
Hello,
My neighbour has some beautiful roses bushes - white and red. No idea how to identify them but I want to take some cuttings.
Can I do it now or is this not recommended?
Thank you.

Hi Lady Coconut78. It all depends on what type of rose bushes they are. Some rose bushes will grow from cuttings but these would normally be done in the Autumn. Many modern roses are grafted and may not make suitable 'cuttings' material.
i took several from my garden last autum, all have rooted but i did cut back the non leaf branches on 2 purple ones and the die back killed the rest of the plant
