Hi all, could someone please turn this on it's side and id this shrub? It's in my neighbour's garden, is about 6' high and is quite strongly perfumed. Between us we thought it might be some form of philadelphus but it doesn't look like mine. Thanks.

Hi there. It looks like a Choisya to me. The all green one. Lovely evergreen shrub with the great smelling blossom. I have the golden version and it looks very nice at the moment but I cannot get too close as great tits are nesting in a box on the wall just above the shrub and I do hear the chicks peeping away. Parents working double shifts to feed them.

Do Choisya get that big??? Cooo. It's a stonker! It does have the right shaped leaves.

    Googling....sing Greensleeves to yourselves... lalalalalalala....

I've had a quick skelly on RHS and the Aztec Pearl can get up to 2.5m. Choisya it is then. Everything in her garden is giant! I don't know what she does. image

Time for a commando raid on her garden shed or greenhouse? Maybe she should be growing a pumpkin image

She foolishly said "don't be buying anything...come down and help yourself" I was on my way to the garden centre at the time. image When I was coming home there was a box sitting at the gate, waiting for me, full of stuff she'd trailed out while I was gone! I left a bag of compost in it's place. Her garden is like a fairy glen complete with little stream at the bottom.

It is Choisya Aztec Pearl.. ...lovely shrub in full bloom just now.  Mine is slow growing so will take time to reach full height.

I was having the grand tour (again) today and her husband (85) came out and sat on the little bench. I threatened to put a red pointy hat on him! image They're brilliant!

That Choisya is something else. The scent was great from it. She has a huge lump of Solomon's seal for me to help myself as well. I've no idea what it's like so I'll have to google it too.
